Hey all. Haven’t had the time to talk much but things have been keepin’ busy.

Thought I’d give y’all a look at how we spent the 4th. Didn’t take any customers that day, but the kids got dressed up all festive-like, took some photos, went swimmin’.

I grilled us some food and Ellis lit off fireworks (though I had to reel the boy in some to keep the fire department from gettin’ called). It was a mighty fine day.

By the time the Flu hit we weren’t getting that many customers to scare away you know? When there’s the scare of a big sickness goin’ around business tends to drop a bit.

A number of the kids took off to go see that their loved ones were well. Those that didn’t… I tried my best to make sure they stayed safe but I couldn’t always watch over what they did off on their own, and that sickness…*sigh*

I haven’t seen any infected around since we settled back in the city, and to be honest I hope it stays that way. *glances over at the shotgun mounted on the wall behind his desk*

Do you only call your workers kids or is that what you call your favorites? What else would you title them - employees, prostitutes, ho's...?

I’ll admit I play favorites sometimes, but I do consider all of ‘em my ‘kids.’ I look out for them, teach and encourage them, give them a place to stay if they don’t have one…just like a good Daddy should. Professionally, I refer to them as my employees.

I had a setup before the flu hit. Wasn’t technically legal though, heh. Had to start up from scratch afterwards.

Don’t get me wrong, the things that went down during the infection were awful, but I suppose you could say the business has gotten some good outta it. Laws got a bit more lenient, guess they figured any job’s a good job when society’s been blown to shit. Put more emphasis on preventing the spread of infection and making testing better available too which is a good thing in my book.
